Bit of a strange one here

I have a website which returns bogus 404 http status codes on EVERY link,
however the site is up and works fine in a browser.

Apparently browsers load and display pages even when they are 404 so as to
render the error page (or in this case, the perfectly working page with a
bogus 404 code) to the user.

Is there a way to instruct httrack to download and parse these pages? I'm
basically asking for an "ignore http status code and download the link anyway"
option. 

I already tried the --generate-errors switch and while it does save the pages,
it doesn't parse them for links.

To reiterate, the pages are not actually 404, the server is just returning
bogus 404 status codes.
