I don't understand your problem. I ran with my defaults:

and almost maxed out my link at 65 kBs with 3 connections:
HTTrack Website Copier/3.46 mirror complete in 1 hours 44 minutes 32 seconds :
160 links scanned, 151 files written (430487964 bytes overall), 152 files
updated [409264347 bytes received at 65252 bytes/sec], 1.4 requests per
connection

Why are you having a problem with a 430 MB mirror that completes in under two
hours?
