Well, if the CD was burnt using some Joliet (long names) 
extension, I'm not sure the mac will recognize them 
depending on the OS release.

A solution would have been to mirror the site using 8+3 
names (see options/build/structure) ; or to burn the CDRom 
using a "compatible" format (I'm not an expert in ISO9660 
format, so I won't be really helpful here)
