Cloning e-commerce sites is bluntly ILLEGAL. The perpetrators risk arrest and
imprisonment.

My website is such a target. I can see thousands of referrals from HTTrack
every month. I protected my folders, however, with membership software that
requires passwords. The htaccess file also rejects requests for certain file
types.

The fact that the creators of HTTrack are not prosecuted is because they prove
some good usage of the off-line browser.
