I hope. But I doubt this will change anything, in fact.

I just thought of another potential issue: can you try to 
rename these files located in the WinHTTrack program folder 
(generally in C:\Program Files\WinHTTrack) :
mfc42.dll
msvcrt.dll

into:
mfc42.removed
msvcrt.removed

It is possible that WXP has a new libc+mfc DLL conflicting 
with the ones shipped with httrack - removing the "old" 
files might solve your problem.

Note: Restart your computer after renaming the DLL's (the 
DLL cache might cause problems) and try to start winhttrack 
again

Can you tell me is this is doing anything good?
