You can't - update automatically update pages that changed, 
and also delete (except if you selected the "do not purge 
old files" option) remotely deleted files.

If you really want to chedk changes between applying them, 
first copy a backup of the folder, and after checking hts-
log.txt (listing updated files and deleted ones), you may 
replace the backup.
