I reordered the line like you suggested

httrack <http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pnp/ppmsc> -%v  -*.tif -
O "/home/history/websites/ppmsc"

and it still was grabbing the tif files.

Any other suggestions or do I just wait till you get a new 
release?
