Err, weird.
Can you start a new mirror, interrupt it, and then before 
restarting it activate the 'Set Options'/'Experts 
Only'/'Activate debugging mode' checkbox ?It will generate an hts-ioinfo.txt
file - check if the 
requests contains "Authorization: Basic" lines -- or email 
me this file (mangle before the embedded authentication 
information if they are confidential)
