I too am having trouble downloading a forum
I have narrowed it down to a particular thread and still 
have trouble with getting and borwsing all the pages.
I believee it may be in tha way the page number links are 
display by different BB softwares
this thread has 97 pages.
the links displayed for accessing them is different on each 
page.
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,>>,last
first,<<,41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49,>>,last
also there are sometimes 10 page numbers-links dosplayed 
and other times there are 20.
browsing the downloaded copy i can access the first 19 but 
20-29 ..not accessible and therefore nothing higher except
"last"
then i can view 88-97 but from 88 cannot view the next 
lower set tho are diplayed as links 
error "the file cannot be found"

i left blanks for the depths to avoid the obvoius depth 
issue here.
could it be a file namiing schemme problem?
