Well, this is an idea, not obvious to do, however, in 
the current engine. A solution, maybe, would be to 
assume that *.gif means 'accept all gifs on all known 
websites' and not 'on all websites' - and using 
*/*.gif may be al alternate solution
But this would'n be obvious to explain, though
