I'm absolutely new to httrack and have not been able to 
decipher where to put the parameters which delineate which 
parts of a site to ignore and which to download ...

as in the answer to the original question (and as shown in 
the Guide written by Mr Cohen) ...

where are the following lines and their bretheren placed?:
