I'm using Linux and I'd like a GUI version like the 
one for Windows, however I know that maintaining two 
different gui code bases can be time consuming. Why 
don't you rewrite the program using Java ? This way 
you can have a single code base that works on many 
OSes. The last 1.4 version is quite fast, and you can 
get lots of pre built classes like support for HTTPS, 
as an example.
