Ok, sorry I didn't read your post thoroughly enough.
But if you use options -n -rN -%e2 you should get the pages you need. In my
experience it is often nessicary to set the link depth to N+1 to get all
images and other elements on the level N pages mirrored. That's why I suggest
you use -%e2 (get to links depths externally to the web pages mirrored).

Yes if N is 1 then use -r2.
