After successfully downloading several websites in recent weeks, today I'm
completely stymied. If I try httrack from the console (Trisquel 7 OS in a
Lenovo T420 notebook with 4GB of RAM) it lets me enter all the usual data and
then simply prints an asterisk (*) and then gives me back my user prompt.
Nothing ensues; the target file remains empty.

If I try running the GUI version, I either get "cannot create
/home/george/Websites/ProjectName" or I get no connection to the htserver.

I even followed my own successful directions to my brother, who also wants to
save a few ephemeral websites that are in danger of disappearing:
1. Create a folder for the target website and write down the entire path.
2. Start HTTrack from the command line.
3. HTTrack wants a name for your project; this isn't the file name !
4. HTTrack then asks for the path to the storage point; be sure to get that
right as in Step 1.
5. HTTrack then asks for the level of capture: I use #1 or #2.
6. HTTrack then asks several questions regarding any modifications; reply with
<Enter>.
7. Sit back and relax; HTTrack will tell you when it's done, but nothing along
the way ...
8. After it's done, close the terminal/exit the command line and open your
browser.
9. Navigate to the website file location and open the index.html file; all the
subsequent links will also point to a storage location on your hard drive, not
to any Internet location.
