I tried and the site was successfullt downloaded with a 
Windows 2K

I really don't know what's the problem with XP here, 
unfortunately - the only major change is the external DLL 
module system.

Could you rename all "dll" files from the winhttrack 
directory into "dll.old" ? This will prevent winhttrack 
from probing them, and might be a solution

If the program still crash, I'll have to find a XP 
somewhere to make tests...
