Yeah, the files are actually downloaded and remain 
undeleted.  I can delete them myself -- I'm trying to 
avoid the download at all (by aborting it as soon as it 
begins and we're sure the link went somewhere real). My 
linkchecking takes around 8-10 hours when the downloads 
are allowed to take place -- this could be reduced by at 
least a factor of ten without the downloading.  From the 
sounds of it, httrack can't do this particular task :(

Ah, well, I guess I'll have to get off my lazy rear and 
write a perl script to do it.  I was just hoping!
