Doesn't seem to be a problem with HTTrack.

But maybe anybody with more HTML knowledge can help me:

The footer, HTTrack adds is enclosed by "<!--" and "-->". 
From what I read, this is normal HTML-Comment.

Other comments in this file have "--!>" as comment ending 
string. I tried that for the footer, and now the whole page 
is displayed. 
Strange, I don't get it (maybe due to limited HTML 
practise).
