WinHttrack works on XP and changing to alpha would not help (alpha is not a new
update).
Do you launch WinHttrack to browse the mirror or do you open the index.html in
the base path?The message makes me think that you have a connection problem
with your XP PC.
What are your settings in Set options / proxy ?
